The Chapel

Step back in time and explore St. Peter's Chapel, a true treasure on Mare Island and the oldest naval chapel in the United States. Famous for its stunning Tiffany stained glass windows and rich history, the chapel offers a unique glimpse into the past. Open Chapel is the only time this historic site is open to the public, so don’t miss this rare opportunity! Our knowledgeable docents will be there to share fascinating stories and answer your questions. Getting to the Chapel

St. Peter's Chapel is located at 1181 Walnut Ave, Mare Island, CA. Enjoy free parking right in front of the chapel, as well as a parking lot conveniently located across the street. We look forward to your visit!

ADA NOTICE: St. Peter’s Chapel is a significant as a key contributing element of the Mare Island Historic District and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark (NRIS Number: 75002103).
